Kildare County Council Arts Service invites applications to the Arts in Education Residency Award 2024.
The Arts in Education Residency Award is open to all primary and post primary schools in County Kildare who wish to engage a professional artist to enhance the school's Arts Education programme.
Applications can be made for Arts in Education Residency Awards of €2,500.
The residency bursary of €2,500 is intended for artists’ fees only. The school should cover the costs of basic materials. However, if specialised materials are required, some of the funding may be allocated for that purpose.
An artist must be sourced by the school in advance of the application being made and this person must identified on the application form. The application form should be jointly prepared by the relevant teacher(s) and artist.
A recent example of Arts in Education Residency Award: Kilkea NS / Angelina Foster, 8 week residency exploring print (eco-printing, gravestone rubbing, drypoint, letterpress) as an artistic medium as well as delving into the life of Ernest Shackleton and his connection with Kilkea. Application deadline
Applications will only be accepted via the online application form.
Applications must be submitted before the deadline at 12pm Wednesday 28th February 2024.
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Supporting Material
It is advantageous to include supporting material that enhances your application including artist CV and information relating to the school's commitment to Arts in Education. Applicants should not assume that the independent assessment panel are familiar with your school, the artist or your previous funding history. The panel will use the supporting material to get a better understanding of the track record of your creative collaborator(s) and the feasibility of your proposal.
Information Session
Kildare County Council Arts Service will host a number of Information Sessions in locations throughout the county about applying for arts grants and bursary awards with Kildare County Council. Sessions will be of particular interest to individual artists, art collectives, community groups, youth groups and schools who intend to apply for Arts Grants from Kildare County Council in 2024.

Please note that information imparted at each session will be the same - there is no need to register to attend all 3 sessions. All are welcome to attend this FREE session, but booking is recommended.

YouTube and social media channels from Monday 22nd January 2024.
